This page explains what happens to your data when you visit escapist.club. In short: very little. The site sets no cookies, runs no tracking scripts and has no forms.

Who is responsible

Mikhail Elychev, email: hi@escapist.club.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare’s network). To deliver a page, Cloudflare’s servers necessarily receive your IP address, the address you requested, the time of the request and your browser’s user agent. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site, protect it from abuse and produce aggregate statistics, such as requests per page and per country, which I can see in its dashboard. The dashboard can also list the IP addresses that sent the most requests; I use it only to understand traffic and to spot abuse.

The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare keeps these logs and statistics for a limited time under its own retention rules. Cloudflare is based in the USA and certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

No cookies, no scripts

The pages set no cookies and run no JavaScript. Fonts and images are served by this site itself, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third party while you read it.

Links to other sites

The apps, GitHub, LinkedIn and Buy Me a Coffee are separate websites with their own privacy policies. Nothing is sent to them until you follow a link.

Email

Messages to hi@escapist.club are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to my personal mailbox (Gmail, by Google). I use your address and message only to reply, and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To use them, write to hi@escapist.club. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
